Hook up help

I just purchased a DVDr and need help with the hookup.
I have the following equipment:
Overair Antenna
Directv Sat A,B,&C
Directv HD receiver - Hughes model HTL-HD
DVD Recorder - Pioneer model DVR-640H-S
Television - Toshiba model 50 H82
I would like to be able to:
Watch TV & record the program I am watching
Record a program when not watching TV
Record a program that is different from the one I am watching
Use the POP feature of my television
