dvd-vhs hook up with digital cable

I need the best hook up for a system using Cable box- DVR (motorola) that allows inclusion of my DVD-VHS player and recorder (Govideo } The TV is a Sony HDTV lcd projection. All units seem to have the connections for composite video as well as many others.
