Unique Hook-up Issue

First off I'd like to say, you have a very knowledge-packed forum here. A definate book-marker. Thanks for all your hard work you've put into it.

Here's my dilema...

I've looked through all your hook-up guides, but can't find the solution for my setup (bet you get that alot aye).
I'm trying to hookup a Dish 411 to a Pioneer DVR 531H-s to a Hitachi 51s715.
The problem is, I can't record one thing and watch another (unless, I only watch via the antenna input of the tv)... the DVR manual says that I can do this, but hooking it up the way they say doesn't work. I've tried a couple of your hookup guides... and no luck.

I'll try to lay out how I have it now...

Sat. to TV via HDMI cable (HDMI input on tv)
Sat. S-Video ---> DVR ---> TV input (S-Video on Input 2)
Antenna split to all 3 (Sat., DVR, and driectly to TV) (Antenna Input on TV)

I realize I can't get HD through the DVR (only component jacks going out, no component feed in, plus it's not a HDMI DVR), but I would like the option of recording SD on input 2, and flipping over and watching HD on the HD input.

Any thing I'm missing here?!?
