Okay just bought a Memorex MVDR2102 DVD Recorder. I have directv.

Ok so I hooked up the player via the A/V cables to the OUT of the DVD recorder. This is good for playback of DVD's. Ok now the part where I get confused. When I try to record I choose the right OUTPUT(AV front, AV Rear,Etc Etc). I am on Line 1(TV), I see the blues screen but it says No Signal. Ok so when I hit record It just says WAITING on the recorder. Am I missing a connection somewhere?? Do I need an S Video cable to be able to record?Or is the DVD recorder messed up?

TIA
Mike

Okay so I posted earlier on trying to get my MVDR2102 Memorex DVD recorder to record so here my second question If I can get the first one fixed:

I want to copy some old VHS tapes to DVD. I have a TV/VCR combo that has two A/V plugs in the front. How can I coonect this to my DVD recorder to record the VHS tapes?

TIA

Mike
