Hi Everyone! I just signed up on this forum and have a lot of questions I need help with, but first let me give you the run down on me. I am 29 years old, married, and working as a financial associate at A.G. Edwards. My husband & I live in Jackson, MS and just recently bought our first HD flat panel TV (Sharp LC-37D43U). We love it, but we did decide to upgrade to Dish Networks HD DVR satellite receiver(VIP 622 DVR). Just had that installed yesterday and have some questions. We also have a Toshiba D-R5SU DVD Recorder and we bought a HDMI cable for that to hook into the TV. The problem we are having is that the satellite receiver has the red, green, and blue component wires and although the DVD recorder has the same, it has it as an output, not an input. The satelitte receiver also has an HDMI digital output and the TV has two hdmi inputs. How do we hook the receiver, DVD recorder and TV together (if this is even possible) in order for us to be able to record what we put on the DVR to DVD discs? I was thinking that we possibly may have to buy another HDMI cable, but then if we do that we would have to hook the satelitte into the TV and also the DVD recorded into the TV considering both the DVD and Satelitte HDMI's are outputs. Now I was looking on the internet and saw that they do sell a HDMI splitter. Would this solve the problem or am I just an idoit? My husband tried really hard last night to hook everything up and gave himself a splitting headache doing it. We have tried taking the HDMI cable we got for the DVD recorder and plugging the receiver into the TV which works fine, but then he tried using the component cables from the DVD recorder to the TV and when you turn on the DVD recorder the picture tint is all messed up. Please let me know if you can help me. I am willling to buy another HDMI cable or even a splitter if I have to. Thanks to everyone and I hope to hear from you soon!
