Hello from Deb in Iowa. I have recently bought a new High Def TV and am looking for help hooking up all the components. We have Dishnet, a vcr and a DVD player, an amplifier with surround sound. My husband wants to be able to watch High Def shows that come through an antennae and record them on our VCR, but we aren't having much luck getting it to work. I plan to peruse the info here to see if we can figure it out. Thanks for providing the help.

For recording HD with a VCR, it's not going to work. You would need a HD receiver with DVR or get the HD recorder from TiVO.
