hello, i'm new and i have a question. the installers came by yesterday to move my direct tv system from my old house to my new house. at my old place it was set up so that it could record 2 things at the same time, or you could watch one channel while it recorded another. now at my new place i can only watch or record one thing at a time. it was a nightmare dealing with direct tv to even get a move and i would rather not deal with them if i can do it myself. How do i get my Tivo back to the way it was at my old place?

Presuming that you moved your old reciever/TIVO to your new home, then it shouldn't be a big deal. Please provide the make/model of your receiver/TIVO and I'll work up a hook-up guide for you.

Your installer should have run a second wire, from the dish or multiswitch, to the receiver, if you look on back of DVR you will see a bunch of threaded ports, for coax, two of them will be labeled SAT One, and SAT Two IN, if you only have one wire, NO HOOKUP GUIDE, OR INFO WILL HELP YOU, You need two sat signals, so you can watch one, record another, or watch two, and record two,

Your job, is called a movers connect, I love those jobs, quick, pay big, and you dont have to deal with installers service at Direct TV, I m surprised your tech just didnt do it automatically, I have installed three thousand DVR, and the older Tivo machines, for Direct TV, and always ran the necessery wires, and the phone line, to them

If your near Chicago Milwaukee Indianapolis, I can come to you and fix it, CHEAP
