Hi, I'm new to this forum,
I'd like to know if the above-mentioned is the same as the PACE 551 HD Cablebox. As my cable supplier "Rogers" has supplied me with the PACE 551, yet, when I go to the cable's co.'s site for help, they only show the Scientific Atla boxes.
I am also trying to find information on how to connect a Samsung VCR/DVD combo unit, a Panasonic DVD Home Theatre system and a Sony HDTV to the HD cable box . I noticed that the HD cable box only has one coaxil, and I would like to record some programs to the VCR, if it's possible. Do I have to buy a HDMI cable?

You can try here: http://cabletv.com/tech-questions-answers/6276-pace-micro-set-top-box.html
also here:

The HDMI is to your HDTV if it has this jack, some TV's have DVI. Component can also be used as well for your HD viewing.
You can run out of the a/v rca jacks on your Pace box to the VCR rca inputs and record like that except for the HD programming.
Look under the Pace section as well, it does have some examples as well.

I suppose I'll get around to trying it out later this week, but is it possible to use *both* the DVI and Component video outputs to two separate TV's? I'd like to drive two different TV's, one on the patio, and one in the kitchen. I realize that they'd have the same channel on them at the same time, but that's OK.
How long can my DVI or Component Video cable be? I think I need about 15 to 20 feet. Or is there a better way to accomplish this? DVI splitter? They're expensive. I'll also need to split (and amplify) the audio.
Thanks!
Pat

I don't see you couldn't use component (or A/V) on one TV and DVI on the other.

Once the HDMI/DVI cable is connected, the component outputs are disabled.
