digital motorola receiver. he forgot to take it when I switched to the dvr type. can i use this box to get channels beyond 99 or it requires registration?

digital motorola receiver. he forgot to take it when I switched to the dvr type. can i use this box to get channels beyond 99 or it requires registration?Napster, the fact that the cable guy forgot the converter doesn't mean you get to keep the converter. That's the legal answer. The technical answer is that the converter will deactivate after a few days. When the cable installer put in the new DVR, he called the system office to activate it. At the same time, they send a deactivation command that will repeat on a regular basis.

If you were the cable guy, and got back to the office missing a $150 converter, you'd go back and hope the guy who's house you left it at would be honest enough to hand it over. Installers can lose their jobs over this type of mistake.

Just something to think about...

Can't say I haven't left something behind before. However someone being honest about it, is always greatly apperciated. For those that are not, I remember. :D

they actually didn't care. they told me to drop it off or just keep it until the next call for an installer. i guess they don't care cuz it's the standard receiver, not the HD or DVR ones.
