confused and tired

hi,
i have searched and tried several hookup methods with no avail to whatt i want accomplished. i have:

scientific atlantic 800 digital cable dvr from time warner
samsung tv tx-p2730
sony slv-n88 vcr
pkilips dvdr3390 dvd recorder

i want to be able to watch tapes or dvds, record from cable to either, and tape from dvd to tape or vise versa. i am hoping that is all possible.

please help??

It's possible to hook everything up...sort of.

The Component Video outputs from your cable converter connects to the Phillips DVDR3390 input. Follow the basic hookup guide on page 21 of the Samsung manual (attached to this post). Then hookup the RF input of the the TV set to the RF output of the VCR. Connect the RF input of the VCR to the RF output of the cable converter.

This is about the best you can do with the separate components you own, but its better than nothing.
