Cable,TV,VCR and DVD Hookup

I have a Sony Triniton TV, a Panasonic Omnivision VCR, and a Trutech tt1620 DVD player recorder. Also have basic cable (no Box). Long story short. Before we moved everything was hooked together so that DVD would record from VCR, which could also record (VCR) from the cable. The movers disconnected everything before I could put tags on the connectors and now I can't remember the connections. There was never a splitter in use. Can you help. I looked in the hookup guides but they show splitters being used.
