Bresnan Goes Out for Some Exercise

Cable Operator Launches Comcast’s ExerciseTV VOD Fitness Service
By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 4/30/2007 2:44:00 PM

Bresnan Communications is launching ExerciseTV, Comcast’s on-demand fitness service, in July to digital-cable customers across Colorado, Montana and Wyoming.

Bresnan customers will be able to choose among hundreds of world-class workout programs, all provided free through video-on-demand. The Bresnan launch brings ExerciseTV’s subscription base to more than 20 million homes.

“It’s primetime all the time on ExerciseTV,” Jake Steinfeld, founder of ExerciseTV and CEO of Body by Jake Global, said in a prepared statement. “Bresnan’s customers will be able to access our workouts whenever they want, seven days a week, 24 hours a day, all for free. ExerciseTV is the only fitness on-demand television network, and we’re fired up to be adding Bresnan to our list of affiliates.”

ExerciseTV offers access to the world's leading fitness video/DVD producers 24 hours a day, seven days a week on-demand. Viewers can use the service's DVD-like functionality to work out at their own pace in the privacy and comfort of their own homes.

The service currently offers more than 150 on-demand workouts, in categories including pilates, yoga, cardio, quick workouts, abs, Tai Chi, sculpting and toning, dancing, walking and pre- and post-natal fitness.

The network, which launched in January 2006, is now carried by Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cox Communications. ExerciseTV was founded by Steinfeld and developed by Comcast. It is managed by Comcast, with New Balance Athletic Shoe and Time Cable acting as additional equity partners.
