Clarification: In this story published Friday it was not clear who would pay a $1-per-month fee to get their Bright House cable package upgraded to receive WDSC-Channel 15. Bright House customers who are not members of Channel 15 and who receive the basic and standard cable subscription on their analog TV must pay the monthly $1 fee. Also, a Bright House spokesman called after the story was written and said a joint statement between Bright House and WDSC is coming soon.
Paying members of WDSC-Channel 15 who subscribe to the area's largest TV provider -- and found their TVs were not receiving the station last month -- won't have to pony up an extra $12 a year to see the station for the next year.
For WDSC's nonmembers who subscribe to Bright House Networks and have analog televisions, though, getting Daytona Beach's Public Broadcasting System station will continue to require an upgrade that costs $1 a month.
