Well at least you have a choice ! Livonia, MI is exclusive BH. AT&T won't be here until sometime in 2008.

BH is doing the old "We moved that channel to digital only" to increase revenues. At the same time, they only have 10 HD channels on their base digital tier and 5 are OTA !

Needless to say there are a lot of DirectTV dishes going up.

Moving analog to digital is a way of opening up space for other advance services. A lot of providers are doing that more and more these days. We are planning on moving some stuff to digital and start adding some HD sometime next year. While video services generate SOME revenue, HSI and telephony generates the money. In order to offer these services, you have to open up space to do so.
While DirecTV is proud of the quantity of HD channels, to bad they don't know about the quality of HD. 1220 or 1440x1080i is not true HD, only 1920x1080i is. ESPN/2, Discovery, Outdoor, Universal HD, HDNet, are really the only ones of any interest outside the Voom Networks to watch. A few years back I seen plenty of dishes going up, now I see them coming down.

Sometimes they 'slip in' by software; sometimes by someone inserting them. Jody (CableWithAView) is an outstanding cop looking for and arresting such things!
