| HDMI install ? Hi, I'm new here but was not sure where to post this question. I have Comcast cable. It was hooked up to an old crt tv, but we bought a new lcd hdtv. In doing that we also got the new hdtv cable box, and now I'm very confused as to how to hook these up. I'd like to keep my old dvd recorder using it the way I always did, to tape shows to watch later. From what I read it would not be high quality taping, but that is not important at this time. I've looked at the hookup diagrams that seemed to match my set up, but none seem to be what I need. I have: Panasonic DVD recorder DMR-E85H Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250 HDC Samsung Series 4, 26 LCD model number : LN26A450C1D The tv and set top are hooked up using the HDMI cable, and they work fine. However there seems no way to tape shows for later viewing. Thanks for any help on this |

| I did finally get the dvd recorder to work (at least to play dvds and any shows I had taped to the harddrive) but it will not tape anything new, as it seems to be on a different channel than the cable box, or the tv switching box (hdmi is cable tv, and the dvr seem to be on the s-vid) Anyway, we got a dvr from the cable company and that does what I need it to do, along with being able to watch dvds on the old dvd recorder. Thanks Jonathan for your help ![]() |
