More Tips for Current and Future Cable Subscribers

With the sale of Adelphia's assets to Time Warner and Comcast now complete, many parts of the country are getting new operators. Right before, and right after a transfer are great times to get good deals on cable.

Why?

Because the outgoing cable operator gets paid, in part, for the number of subs it has at the time of the sale. The new cable operator wants to keep those subs through the confusion of the name changes, channel line up changes, rate "adjustments" etc.

If you're in an area losing or getting a cable operator, it's deal'n time! Call and see what the best deals are. Don't be shy...it there's an installation charge, remind the CSR that Dish and DirecTV will install for free. See if that gets you the installation for free.

Has anyone noticed that if you get a replacment Scientific Atlantic 3250HD
box for the first day, until an overnite update, you get all the channels
including the premium channels?

Some systems do an immediate hit, so the subs aren't as lucky as you!
