If Verizon or AT&T are deploying their cable systems (even if AT&T doesn't claim its a cable operator...yet) in your town, this would be an excellent time to look for a deal from your incumbent cable operator.
The legacy cable operator, faced with the prospect of losing upwards of half (or even more) of its subscribers to the upstart will be in a deal making mood. If you're happy with your cable operator, you might want to see what they'll do to keep you as a sub. For example, if you're thinking about subscribing to a preimum channel, call your cable operator and ask for a fee-free period of several months when you sign-up. Deals somethings exist, but are not published, to give the CSRs something to tempt you with to becoming or staying a cable subscriber.
