Cable One has awarded Time Warner Telecom with a $2.5-million, multi-year contract to serve as the primary backbone Internet network provider for its Boise system.
Time Warner Telecom will provide Cable One’s Boise system with a 10 Gbps Ethernet network infrastructure to support the cable operator’s high-speed Internet offering.
The telecom has constructed dual-entrance facilities for Cable One, increasing reliability and supporting the company's business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
Time Warner Telecom also provides service to Cable One in Arizona and Texas. Cable One provides cable TV, high-speed Internet and telephony services to 720,000 households in 19 states.
Time Warner Telecom will change its name to tw telecom on July 1, the company said.
