Thanks to the efforts of Marc Pachtman, you can now more confidently ask for a written confirmation of agreements with Comcast cable customer service phone representatives.
Mr. Pachtman, a lawyer in Boothwyn, Pa., who contacted Bucks in response to this post, began a campaign to receive the confirmations after several instances in recent years in which his Comcast cable bills didn’t reflect verbal agreements he had worked out on the phone with the cable provider’s representatives.
Marc Pachtman has been on a crusade to get Comcast to provide written confirmations.
First, about two years ago, Mr. Pachtman said he called Comcast to complain about service charges he had received. Although the phone representative agreed to a credit of one month, the credit never appeared on his bill. Then, about a year ago, he said the cable bill for his second home wasn’t reduced to the basic cable price he and the phone representative had agreed on. Finally, earlier this year, he said he changed his cable service for his main residence and again, the bill he next received didn’t reflect the changes.
