| Insight, Sinclair Reach Retrans Pact By Mike Farrell -- Multichannel News, 6/3/2008 11:31:00 AM Sinclair Broadcasting Group and Insight Communications have agreed on a three-year extension to their existing retransmission consent contract, the broadcaster said Tuesday. According to Sinclair, the analog and digital carriage extension involves four television stations in Kentucky and Ohio and covers the period from Jan. 1, 2009 to Dec. 31, 2011. Sinclair would not disclose the terms of the contract, but in a statement said that it believes the extension, which provides Insight with certain video on demand rights but does not include an advertising component, “reflects an appropriate economic arrangement.” Insight had reached a long-term retransmission consent deal with Sinclair in 2005. That deal, which also included Sinclair stations in Illinois, was set to expire at the end of this year. The extension relates to the following Sinclair TV stations: WDKY (Fox 56) in Lexington, Ky.; WSYX (ABC 6) and WTTE (Fox 28) in Columbus, Ohio; and WSTR (MyNetwork TV 64) in Cincinnati, Ohio. In January, Insight unwound its 50-50 partnership with Comcast, transferring its Illinois and Indiana properties to the Philadelphia-based MSO. http://www.multichannel.com/article/...dustryid=47199
