hdtv antenna

MY house is already cable ready.I have used comcast in the past and have recently went to dishnetwork.I purchased a hctv antenna that i will mount on the existing dish on the side of my house.On the side of my house i have 2 cable boxes.1 I assume is where the cable comes from the line on the pole and the other has a switch in it that says rs in and 12volt in going to a power cord in my garage.I want to know if i can hook my hdtv antenna up to the cable lines and will it work from my wall cable outlet to the back of my hdtv......i dont want to have to run more coax if i already have cable in place.will i have to use a diplexer and if so where do i split it from the box or at the line in the wall or is there a way to do this differntly.....thanks is advance.

OK ANOTHER IDEA.i have a super dish antenna on my house.could i use a splitter out from the hdtv antenna and from the lnb on the dish and would this work.how would i hook the lines up say to the dish hd reciever to dvd then to tv antenna in.....just trying to trouble shoot this....

You can use a diplexer/multi switch to make it work. I would recommend getting your installer to do it and do it right.
As for hooking it up, you would come out of the antenna side of the diplexer into the antenna/cable input of the receiver and then you can use RF, RCA or component output to input jack into your DVD then out to the TV.

Thank you for your reply.i appreciate your advice on a installer to do this for me but i like a challenge also.I have a anteena input on my hdtv dish reciever.Could i not split it off using diplexer at the reciever and into the anteena input on the tv which both have no cables going to them at this time.or just split it off from the dishes with diplexer and run coax from anteena in on reciever to anteena in on tv.

Diplexer antenna out into the input of the receiver or TV either one or both. It's up to you and depends on what your needs are. The diplexer should be on the coax coming in and then one out to the receiver on the sat input and the other for your antenna which can go either/or antenna input on the receiver and and/or TV. If you use an amp for your antenna, the power supply would have to be before the multi switch because it nor the diplexer passes power from the antenna side. Hope that helps.
