Suddenlink and Convergys Sign Billing Managed Services Contract

Convergys (News - Alert) has signed a six-year managed services billing contract with Suddenlink Communications.

Under the contract, Convergys' Consulting and Professional Services will implement and operate Convergys' ICOMS customer care and billing platform to support Suddenlink's video, high-speed data, digital phone and other broadband services.

Suddenlink also has the option to use components of Infinys, Convergys’ modular, convergent, business support system software.

Bob Putnam, Suddenlink senior vice president, Information Technology, believes Convergys’ robust software solutions and consulting expertise will allow them to serve their customers more effectively and will facilitate the introduction of new broadband services in a more timely manner.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to serve Suddenlink and add it to our growing list of important customers,” said Jim Boyce, president of Communications, Media, and Entertainment for Convergys in a statement to the press.

According to Boyce, Suddenlink can improve the quality of its customer service and achieve its aggressive subscriber growth plans for broadband services by consolidating Suddenlink’s operations onto a single Convergys platform.

The migration of Suddenlink’s customer base to ICOMS has begun and will be completed during 2007. Using the ICOMS functionality Suddenlink will be able to create, sell, and support itstriple play bundles with a single bill and a single view of the customer.
