| Suddenlink promotes Putnam Suddenlink Communications said Tuesday that it promoted Bob Putnam to chief information officer from senior vice president of information technology. Putnam joined Suddenlink in March 2003. "Bob has played a critical role in our successful network and billing migrations from Cox and Charter. In addition, he played an important role in the deployment of our new telephone product," Jerry Kent, Suddenlink's CEO, said in a statement. "Bob's leadership throughout his tenure at Suddenlink, and during the last year in particular, have contributed greatly to our success." The St. Louis-based cable operator more than tripled its customer base last year through a $2.55 billion acquisition of certain Cox Communications cable television systems and a $750 million purchase of some Charter Communications systems in Virginia and West Virginia. Part of St. Louis-based holding company Cequel III, Suddenlink Communications offers digital TV, high-speed Internet and telephone service. Formerly known as Cebridge Connections, the company changed its name to Suddenlink following the acquisition from Cox Communications last year.
