THIBODAUX — Starting today, Thibodaux and Houma residents have a new option for television service.

After months of negotiating with local governments, AT&T’s digital-cable service, U-Verse, is now available. You can sign up on the company’s Web site, http://uverse.att.com or at one of three local AT&T stores:

n 367 N. Canal Blvd., Thibodaux.

n Southland Mall, 59853 W. Park Ave., Houma.

n 1344 Tunnel Blvd., Houma.

U-Verse, which delivers its digital-television service via Internet or phone connections, will compete in Thibodaux with the city’s long-standing cable provider, Charter Communications.
