Hookup DVR, DVD-R, VCR, A/V Tuner, and TV

Hello,

I looked at your hookups but couldn't find this one. I have a cable DVR, a DVD-R recorder/DVD player, a VCR, an A/V tuner, and a TV. How can I hook them up so I can record to the DVD player from TV or VCR and record to DVD while watching something else?

Thanks,

Jim

Okay, Jim, you want to give me a challenge, eh? I'm up for it. Please provide the make/models for each of the items and I'll work up a diagram for you!

Best,

Jonathan

Great!

DVD-R: Toshiba D-RW2
DVR: Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HD (Time Warner cable)
VCR: Proscan VCR+ Gold (the old one of the bunch)
Tuner: Sony STR DE685
TV: Phillips Magnavox TS2779 C221

The TV, Tuner, DVD-R and DVR all have s-video ports. The VCR only has the red/yellow/white wire sound/video out as it is about 10 years old.

Thanks,

Jim

I am going to try to get this done this weekend so if anyone has any hints I would appreciate them. If not, I can wing it.

Thanks in advance

Jim, I'm heading into the office to work on some pleadings. When I get in I'll get you the diagram. I'd say about 2 hours from now (9:40 a.m. PDT).

Here's a hook-up diagram for your equipment that favors S-VIDEO connections. Fairly straight forward, but provides maximum flexibility to watch one source and record to another, and for the audio, as well.

Good luck.
