Help me? I have too many to connect..

Hello,

I've searched, begged and pleaded with the Tech Support but they didnt even have a clue on how to help.

Here's my situation..

I have a TV (Orion)
A Home Surround Theater with DVD player Sony DAV-DX150
A Explorer 8300 box from Time Warner Cable
A Memorex MVDR2102 DvD recorder..

How do I hook them all up?

I've searched the forums and I even went to Sony.com for help, but I just dont get it..

PLease help!!

THanks

Mikael:

What model of Orion TV do you own? Also, is the 8300 an HD model?

With that info I can guide you.

I was unable to find any information on the web about your TV so I need a bit more help from you about the input and output connectors on the back of the set.

Please list the input and output connectors on the rear panel of the TV. You'll certainly have an ANT IN connector (cable TV type), and you'll most likely have "RCA" type white/yellow/red connectors for video input. Please confirm that you have these, and list whatever else is on the back.

Best,

Jonathan

Ok.. here's what I have in the back of the TV

An ANT (75 Omega) connector (I think RF Coaxial connector.. )

S Video Jack

In Out

Video | Video Yellow
Mono | Mono White
Audio | Audio Red

That's it

Okay, it has taken some digging to get the information needed to craft a hook-up diagram for you. Given the components in your system the attached hook-up guide will work.

One downside is that your home theater has not line audio outputs. To record from the DVD player in your theater to the standalone DVDr using the S-Video cable will only produce mono audio into the DVDr.

Best holiday wishes,

Jonathan

Mikael:

You've made my day, week, month, and year (of course it's only the second day of the year, but you get the idea).

I'm glad the diagram worked for you.

Best regards,

Jonathan
