Cable converter to A/V receiver to DVDR to HDTV

Hello. We have most of this system working but now have a new component and don't know where it should go. We'd like to know the BEST way to configure everything. Any help appreciated.

Components:

receiver: Harman Kardon AV135
DVD player: Mitsubishi DD-8050
DVDR: LG RC199H
Cable converter/HD/DVR: Motorola (um, forgot the number but it's the dual tuner)
TV: Mitsubishi WS-65809
And an old Technics turntable that worked with our previous receiver but not the HK

TIA!

Welcome to the forum.
However I don't know about a Harman Kardon AV135.
Try looking over in Hook-up Guides under Scientific Atlanta or Motorola set top box info and see if something is there to help you out.

There's a detailed diagram of the HK AV135 here: http://manuals.harman.com/HK/QuickSt...AVR135rear.pdf

Right now we have the cable box video output (component) to the TV, and the sound output (optical) to the receiver--mostly because that's the way Comcast installed it. But now we'd like to be able to record from the DVR box directly to the DVDr (if possible). And we don't know if this should all be working off the receiver, or if we should leave video output directly to the TV, or what.

Thanks for any assistance.

Pattie:

Your HK amp does not support phono inputs, so in the attached diagram I've shown a phono-preamp to bring the phono levels up to a tape input level you can use.

Best regards,

Jonathan

Was wondering why that turntable wouldn't work.

We'll give it a shot. Thank you guys very much! Appreciate all that you do for folks here.
