hook up

what would be the proper order to hook these various units up! digital converter box cablevision,surrond sound dollby pro logic[tx-sv525] onkyo receiver, zeneith dvd recorder/vcr unit and a older rca tv?

The hook-up is very straight-forward. I've attached a diagram to this posting that shows the various items of equipment, and the required cables. I've also attached the manual for your Onkyo recever/amplier.

Once everything is hooked up, you'll set your Onkyo to the video input setting to amplify the audio from the DVD/VCR. Your DVD/VCR will be set to video line input (or, if your cable box does not have a line video output, to the RF coax input...see the diagram).

Don't forget to turn down the sound on your TV set unless set it very low and use it for center fill.
