Please help with HD component hookups Hi Jonathan
Here's what I'm doing and what I have:
Comcast cable w/S.A. Explorer 8300HD DVR cable box
Panasonic HD plasma tv w/HDMI
Panasonic DMR-ES25 dvd recorder w/HDMI
I wish to hookup so as to record archived shows from the dvr. As an aside; Panasonic told me today that channels 126 and up were accessible --but they don't seem to be (for recording from the tv thru Comcast's program lineup). I tried asking Comcast and the rep didn't even know that dvr archiving was available!!
I actually would prefer a hookup diagram that allows me to record the material already saved to the dvr's hdd. Comcast supplies a VHS hookup diagram for this via archaic composite cables off of their 'OUT 2' port. If I wanted to use composite or better yet, HDMI cabling, would the dvr and dvd recorder still 'see' each other? I'm not sure if that 'OUT2' port is a dedicated one (aka vcr only?) --or just one that a vcr could handle.
Hope this makes sense, yikes! thank you mnman |
