Here is a link to some hook up guides concerning Scientific Atlanta: http://cabletv.com/tech-questions-an...o-set-top.html
SA does pretty well in giving different senerios in hooking up their box.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately, it does not answer my question.. I dont have a vcr, should I treat my Home Surround Theater with DVD player as a Amplifier Reciever?

God, I'm so frustrated

Mikael:

Sorry this is such a hassle. The equipment manufacturers seem to go out of their way to make things hard on consumers, all in the name of progress (and features).

Yes, treat the home theater as an amplifier FOR THE AUDIO PORTION, and treat the DVD portion as just a DVD, with the output connecting to an alternate input on your TV set (such as an S-video input).

You are in serious trouble if that's what you believe. Having said that, please give me the model number of your Orion TV and I'll have go at it!

I tried to hookup like you said, but unfortunately, the Orion TV only has one S Video plug..

My model number for my Orion TV is NO. FTV27101A
Home Surround Theater with DVD player is Sony DAV-DX150
Digital Cable Box is Explorer 8000

This time, I am not going to hook up the Memorex DVR Recorder

If you recall, we discussed this earlier when I had my Memorex DVR Recorder and you had trouble finding the information on the Orion TV..

My original cable box fritzed out on me and I got a different box, and wouldnt you know it? I am completely mystified on how to hook it up.. I went through your entire hookup guide but it just does not work..

Thanks again

That's the one, although it is no longer useful to me, This time I am not hooking up the Memorex DVR Recorder..

So again let me reiterate..

I have a Orion TV
A Sony DVD Home Surround Theater System
Explorer 8000 Cable Box

Do I need two set of Coaxial cables to hook 'em up?

The problem I am having is that I can watch Cable but when I want to watch the DVD, I have no way of viewing it.

Can ya help?
