Help Please

Hi, I am new here and Im still trying to figure out all of the rules so please bear with me
I recently purchased a Philips DVR so I might transfer some home videos to disc. I think I have tried every configuration known to man but cant for the life of me figure out how to hook it up. I have'nt seen this combination yet so maybe someone can help.
Scientific Atlantic DVR,
Philips DVR 3400
RCA VCR in/out audio l/r
RCA TV s-video..in/out adio l/r

any help is appreciated

Have you checked out the hook-up guides (see the link bar above). Typically you'll want to hook up the VCR video/audio outputs to the matching inputs on the Philips DVR to make tape-to-disc copies. As for recording off the SA DVR, if that converter has a digital output that matches the Philips, you're best best is to use that. The 3400 should be the last device before the TV set.

Still not working

Thanks Jonathon for your quick reply. I did try the hookup guide but nothing seems to work. I can get the Philips to record but only whats on tv. I can get the vcr to play but cant get the Philips to record anything from it. I have tried every setting but nothing seems to work...Im beginning to think they are incompatible. Im Stumped
