Controversy over Time Warner Cable Company's decision to charge customers based on how much they download on the internet was the main topic of discussion at the monthly meeting of Austin's Technology and Telecommunications Commission, an advisory board to the city council
Members of Austin's high-tech community made up the majority of attendees, most of whom have major issues with Time Warner wanting to charge residential customers based on how much bandwidth they use.
"I believe that Time Warner is using monopolistic pricing tactics," said Michael Chaney, a local engineer.
